Week 79: Fighting For Truth

Hey everyone,

So this week was pretty awesome! Also super busy but I will give you a quick update!
So first off we had zone training meeting and the preparation for it was pretty gnarly but it came together! We taught about the atonement and glorying in tribulations and the spirit was really strong in the meeting! I’ll give a few points from the meeting at the end of my updates.
We had a really good lesson with Wilson where we talked about the doctrine of Christ and he understands it so well! We gave him a white shirt and tie and he put them on right away and said that he is a future missionary! He couldn’t stop talking about his mission and how he was so excited to go! He will be 18 in one year so we’ll see where he gets called! I can’t wait for him.
One of the elders here in Hannover had to go home because of medical reasons and so we have been working as a trio and it’s been great! It usually means that two will be on one side of the street and the other will be flying solo and it was different but super fun. We found two new friends too.
We had an emergency assignment to go to Halberstadt to take care of a ward mission leader who is being difficult and that took a long time so our whole Saturday was gone but on Sunday we had the opportunity to visit both the German ward and the English branch and it was amazing. In the English branch we had fast and testimony meeting and the spirit was so incredibly strong. Henry Patrick the second counselor gave his conversion story and his testimony of the Book of Mormon and he even used the Doctrine and Covenants! I was so overcome with gratitude for the fact that I got to be there for Henry’s conversion. He was the first person that I truly got to teach and see converted to the gospel and now he is steadfast helping the small little branch grow and flourish!
I want to quickly leave you with something we shared in zone training meeting about how we need to go forward with all faith in Christ being valiant in this wonderful work. He quoted revelations which says, “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” (Rev. 3:15–16.) The summer patriot and the sunshine saint retreat when the battle wages fiercely around them. Theirs is not the conqueror’s crown. They are overcome by the world.
I know that in order to be in the Lords army we have to be all in and that is what I love to do! I love to be here fighting the fight day in and day out. That is my biggest sense of joy! I know that this church is true and that we are in the fight for truth and nothing can stop us!!!
Love you all,
Elder Gallacher
