Another good week here Germany!
First I’ll go through the day to day and then I will tell you the fun stuff! So on Tuesday we had a lesson with our investigator Klaus and he is so great. Our lessons are always super spiritual and full of learning and he is just so open!
On Wednesday we had district meeting and and rang some klingles and then we went to Chemnitz because my companion had to go to Berlin for a leader training meeting so I had to stay in Chemnitz.
Thursday I worked in Chemnitz for the day and it was so cool! I got to be in a big city and there were just so many people! haha It was really weird. We taught 4 lessons which is about a quarter of the lessons that I’ve taught since coming to Germany so that was cool! Another cool thing is that Chemnitz used to be called ‘Karl Marx Statt’ so they have this massive headstone right in the middle of the city. Biggest headstone in the world I might add!
On Friday we had weekly planning and then we did some doors and then went by a contact and we ended up talking to this woman’s daughter for a little and she was really interested, but as we were talking -out of nowhere- the sky just went black and then the wind went crazy and within seconds we were walking back to our car and boom: RAIN!! Sooooo much rain. The wind was blowing it completely side ways! I was driving about 20 kmh and I could barely see! After about 5 minutes the roads were pretty much just rivers and there was flooding everywhere.
The rest of the week was pretty slow as far as missionary work goes but on Sunday Klaus came to church and he loved it! It was so cool to have him there!
Now for the random side stories:
So here in Hohenstein we have what is called the Sachsenring and it is a super famous racetrack and this week they had the world cup of motorcycle racing! 200,000 people were here in Hohenstein and they were all camped out on this hill that we could see from our bedroom window! I kid you not, they had a never ending supply of fireworks! It was so hard to sleep because all night long there were just tons of fireworks and loud music! When we would go out on the street everyone was just drunk out of their minds and a few times I saw guys just face plant in the middle of the road. It was nuts. Sunday was the final race and then everyone left and the traffic here was crazy. We were really happy that we were finally going to be able to sleep and then we remembered that Sunday night was the world cup finale. Last night was crazy I’ll just say that. Non-stop screaming and yelling and fireworks! They even had the towns firetrucks driving around sirens blazing for like an hour.
Even though the town was filled with crazy fans of all sorts it was still a good week. We worked really hard and we saw lots of blessing with Klaus.
I hope everything is going great for you all!
I love you.
Hurrah for Deutschland!
keep the faith 🙂
